To Recap

- It was Staff Appreciation Week at Sam's school. I was there setting up/serving/cleaning a luncheon on Friday, decorating for the week on Sunday, delivering balloons on Monday, bringing treats on Tuesday, attending a 4-hour Board meeting Tuesday night, and delivering letters of thanks on Thursday.

- Sam and I went to see Grandpa Mark in a musical at his church. Grandpa Mark played the part of Aaron, Moses' brother. When Moses yelled at Aaron for building a golden calf (resulting in the sight of Grandpa Mark cowering), Sam started crying and didn't stop for the rest of the play. Whoops - I broke him again.

- Last night was lovely, with dinner cleaned up and the windows cracked open. Eric and Sam sat at the kitchen table and did a dinosaur puzzle as Matilda and I played with a dollhouse on the floor. I'm choosing to ignore the glaring gender stereotypes and remember it as a nice family evening.

- This morning, as I staggered around trying to wake up, Sam stood in front of me suspiciously. "Do we have bread and jelly?" he asked. I nodded. Instantly thrilled he leapt into the air with both arms over his head. "Then let's have TOAST!" he cried happily.

- Every day is getting busier than the last. I have a LOT of Board stuff the next few months, we have scheduled playdates, Eric and I are both planning weekends away, Sam is enrolled in soccer AND swimming, we're trying to get ready for the 5K and our list of goals for the yard/garden/landscaping is almost endless. I'm working on a color-coded document in Word so Eric can see everything that is coming up.

Today we're off to a playdate at Pipsqueaks and then watching James graduate from his DARE program. Life is good.
