Cake On The Go

Sam is so very aware of his upcoming birthday. Every morning he asks, "I birthday? Now?" I try to explain it is still far away but he is just so excited. He tells me, "I birthday. I three. I party and cake."

I asked him what kind of party he wanted and he insisted that he wants a cake party. I told him he could choose what kind of cake - dinosaurs, animals, trains, cars, etc. I was hoping to make a train cake but he was adamant about having a car cake. He even called it the no-train car cake. Last night he told Eric's mom about it in a breathless rush. "Grammy! I birthday three party no train cake CAR cake!"

This morning he walked up to me very casually and said, "Mom? No car cake. TRAIN cake."

What? A change of heart? We talked about it for a few minutes and now he is just as positive that he wants a no-car train cake. I am waiting until a few days before the party to ask for his final decision.

Just in case...how DOES one make a car cake, anyway?
