Hunka Hunka Love

Matilda took her time arriving. I was only six days overdue - not a long time - but it was a very uncomfortable week. I was huge! And with good reason - she was 8 lbs, 14 oz at birth. Babies who weigh nearly nine pounds don't look much like newborns!

Eric is introducing Sam to Matilda for the first time. Sam was just politely interested.

Does this look like a three-day-old baby? The poor kid got my fat head. I'll be apologizing for that the rest of her life.

This face is called "The Matilda." At any given moment she is frowning. Is she angry that everything she owns is pink? Or is she just hungry again? We'll never know.

Luckily for me, most fat babies are happy babies, and Matilda is no exception. She is very sweet, and a great sleeper! Give me a fat, sleeping baby over a tiny awake baby any day!
