The Puzzler

Sam has always been really good at doing puzzles. It's one of the reasons I wasn't totally panicking about his speech development a year ago. It was clear that he was a pretty bright little dude.

He has the 24-piece puzzles that are for ages 3 and up. He can whip through them in less than a minute. For Christmas we gave him an animal book that has a puzzle on each page. Each puzzle is 48 pieces and they are fairly difficult. It says it's for ages 7 and up. Sam can do those in about two minutes. After completing a puzzle a few times he remembers where every piece goes. He can pick up the first piece and put it where it goes without any other pieces around it. He knows if it is in the middle, or closer to the upper right-hand corner, or near the bottom. It's pretty impressive.

He likes to do several puzzles at once, and my kitchen floor is his canvas of choice.

I love her name, Emilie. Who cares what anyone else says! I was so excited to see the new addition - I knew she was on her way but didn't know when she was due to arrive :) Congratulations! She's adorable.

Great work on the puzzles, Sam! That's amazing!
